SLS South Beach & Prescriptive Music – Set To Make A Splash
SBE has once again selected Prescriptive Music to customize the musical atmosphere which will welcome guests of The SLS South Beach, opening in the Spring of 2012. Occupying The Ritz Plaza’s former space, The SLS has revamped their luxurious location through numerous renovations and weaving together lounge music with funky Cuban sounds. The hotel’s brand new pool side bungalow suites allow guests to bathe in the warm sunshine, while enjoying music from artists such as Goldfrapp and Thievery Corporation. The hotel includes 8,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor amenities, 130+ rooms and cabanas. Prescriptive Music has also worked with SBE to create the vibe at its other properties in Los Angles, such as The Bazaar and Katsuya. Both restaurants are set to make their Miami debut in the SLS Hotel South Beach. The Bazaar offers an eclectic setting with Spanish influenced fine dining from the renowned chef Jose Andres, while Katsuya offers Japanese inspired cuisine to entice any guests’ taste buds. Being that these locations are all the rage in Los Angeles, The SLS Hotel is sure to become the newest hot spot to hit South Beach.

Mercato di Vetro, sbe’s latest Santa Monica Italian eatery and bar exceeds expectations with its small plates with big flavors playlist by Prescriptive Music. The open Tuscany kitchen and authentic market feel cheese bar and meat counter exuberates all throughout its two levels connected by a floor-to-ceiling wine rack. The approachable, social and interactive environment is modern meets traditional.

“And everything is going to beat. And everything is going to the beat,” taken from American electropop Passion Pit’s Sleepyhead is exactly what will be sensed from this edgy, cool hipster playlist. Think high energy, upbeat, fast tempo bands like Night mixed in with a little bit of light Italian flavor variables. Fun, indie rock, electronic singles leave a long lasting musical appeal.

The rustic, theater-like restaurant was very much inspired by 1960 La Dolce Vita, a comedy-drama film. Taking from the old Italian film clips, the concept launched its own, An Italian Affair video. With a cigar lounge, iPad/iPhone integration, sbe’s upmost award-winning dining experience and Prescriptive Music partnership, Mercato di Vetro is the only “market of glass,” to check out in L.A.

KATSUYA OPENS IN LAGUNA BEACH WITH DISTINCT, EDGY VIBE

Katsuya by Starck, the brainchild of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi, entertainment powerhouse sbe, and designer Philippe Starck, opens a new location in Laguna Beach on July 8. Prescriptive Music creates distinct vibes for five Katsuya locations: Hollywood, Glendale, Brentwood, LA Live, and now Laguna Beach.

Guests at the Laguna Beach location, the first Katsuya in Orange County, will hear electronic-base beats by artists like The Xx, Goldfrapp, and Marina and the Diamonds, R&B-influenced remixes by artists featuring Nina Simone, and uptempo lounge tracks.

SBE’s premiere nightlife venue in West Hollywood, CA and voted “Best Gay Bar In The World” needed a new company to program its musical and video environment. They turned to Prescriptive Music’s legendary programmers to create the new sound of The Abbey, using a mix of background music and videos.

The SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills is the first in a new chain of hotels part of SBE’s Luxury Collection, and simply calling it luxurious is a bit of an understatement. SBE CEO Sam Nazarian has done it again, using another one of Philippe Starck’s (Katsuya) inspired design concepts to create an elegant, sophisticated atmosphere for this Stylish, Luxurious, Service-oriented new hotel. Some of the amenities the SLS offers include a customized Smartphone application for off-site reservations and requests, the Altitude pool deck with amazing views of Beverly Hills and fully-loaded private cabanas, and two restaurants by world-renowned Spanish chef Jose Andres. Sam Nazarian has already used Prescriptive Music’s services at The Redbury Hotel as well as at the Abbey, Katsuya, and XIV so the programmers felt extremely privileged to have the opportunity to design the sonic vibe for SBE’s latest venture.
